Mirc tor proxy6/11/2023 ![]() This works out fine on Freenode or other common IRC servers, but if I want start to finish anonymity, it seems like this is a glaring oversight. I use Tor for several IRC's, mainly because I like to sit a nick in a few channels at home and at work, and I just don't want such an easy way to be data mined. This seems like a work-flow issue that is applicable to most IRC servers. My target IRC server at the moment is AnonOps and I've asked the same question over at r/anonymous. It seems you have potentially and permanently disclosed your nick one time while creating it forever possibly linking your anonymous use of that nick to that one time. This requires you to connect without Tor, register this nickname, then come back connected through Tor thinking your connection is anonymous. It seems all IRC servers I've came across that allow Tor connections, require SASL or another nick authentication method.
